 On this day in 1962, while in a hospital in labor with me, my mom watched John Glenn orbit the earth.  37 years later I met Senator Glenn when he received an honorary degree from Brown for returning to space at age 77.  When I told him I was born on the day he orbited the earth, he said it made him feel really old.  He then gave me a hug and we talked about his journeys.
